PTFE-modified polyamide (PA)

Publication Time:

2021-11-09

Adding PTFE (Daikin L-5 or DuPont MP1000) to PA mainly improves its lubricity. According to the literature, when the PTFE content is greater than 10%, the friction and wear resistance of PA is significantly improved. For example, adding 5% linear low-density polyethylene/propylene-styrene copolymer, which is compatible with PA, and 10% PTFE to the PA system simultaneously produces a very good synergistic effect. This is an ideal modification method, both in terms of improving the performance of the composite material and reducing costs.
